Nigerian Muslims lose three great personalities within 24 hours

Tragedy has yet again befallen the Nigerian Muslim community with the death of three important personalities in successive manner within 24 hours, Muslim News reports.

These important Muslim personalities are professionals in their various rights.

They are: Dr Muhyideen Zughlool, a scholar and researcher; Mr Sikiru Bayo Osinowo, Nigerian lawmaker and Mallam Azeez Ozi-Sanni, a journalist and cartoonist.

Information available to Muslim News reveal that Dr Muhyideen died yesterday’s night, 14, June, 2020. He was a scholar, preacher and one of the children of the late Shaykh Mustapha Zughlool, who also departed the world in 2017.

Announcing his demise, a statement by one of his students at the popular Daaru Da’wah, Isolo reads: “We ask Allah to accept the return of our dear teacher, Dr. Muhydeen Sanusi; the son of our father, Shaykh Mustapha Zuglool, who passed away today. May Allah forgive the father and son, and all deceased Muslims. Aameen”.

In a similar development, the Senator representing Lagos East at the Red Chambers, Mr Sikiru Bayo Osinowo has also reportedly died today, 15, June, 2020, after losing the battle to a brief illness.

The Ijebu-Ode born lawmaker died at the age of 64 at the First Cardiologist Hospital in Lagos State. He rose to the National Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Investment.

The late Osinowo was also a pioneer youth Chairman of the SDP and four-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Mal Azeez

Also, Mallam Azeez Ozi-Sanni, a journalist and cartoonist with The Nation newspaper has also passed on today after a brief illness in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

His demise was announced in a statement made available to by one of his colleagues. It says: “We just lost our great Cartoonist, Azeez Ozi-Sanni in Ibadan after a brief illness. May Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus. You did your best to change the society”.

Muslim News condoles with the Muslim Ummah on this unfortunate developments, and seeks Allah’s forgiveness and mercy for them and other deceased Muslims. Ameen
