MY JOURNEY TO ISLAM: Jae Deen turns Author, narrates conversion story in new book

Jae Deen, one of the duo of the defunct popular hip-hop group, Deen Squad has ventured into book publishing with the release of his first book, entitled, “A Decade of Guidance: From the struggle to shahaadah: a story of travesty and triumph.”

The ‘Halal Lovin’ rap artiste unveiled the cover of the book during the week on his verified Instagram handle, saying it’s the biggest project of his life.

According to him, “A Decade Of Guidance is my first book about my conversion story to Islam, how I learned Arabic by myself, writing down the entire Quran, my language journey and my deepest reflections from the past 10 years of me being a Muslim convert.

“If I have ever inspired you, I promise you that this book will INSPIRE you like never before. It will motivate and push you knowing that I was able to accomplish so much in my faith being in the position I was in,” he added.

The book was co-authored with Youssef Kromah, an award-winning poet and international television host at Huda TV in Cairo, Egypt, who will be reviewing the book chapter-by-chapter.

Jae Deen (real name, Joshua Asare) was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada by Christian parents of Ghanaian descent, Muslim News reliably gathered.

He left Christianity for Islam at age 15 (June 16, 2010) and in his bid to give what he has to the community, the talented rapper teamed up with his friend, Karter Zaher, to start the rap group that’s today known as Deen Squad in 2015. They parted ways in 2019.
