While top members of the family of the deceased chose that their patriarch be buried in his mosque in Ibadan, scholars rose up to clarify to them that such was against Islamic tenets.

Muslim News findings have revealed that  family have concluded plans to observe Janazah (funeral prayer) for the former Governor at Ishaq Ajimobi Central Mosque after which his remains would be interred in one of his houses.

The Chairman, Oyo State Muslim Community, Alhaji Kunle Sanni confirmed the news, saying, “Alhamdulilah, the rigmarole  surrounding  where Alhaj  Ishaq Abiola  Ajimobi  would  be buried  has been resolved. Prayers on his remains would  be at Ishaq  Abiola  Ajimobi  Mosque  at 11am.  HE WOULD NOT BE BURIED IN THE MOSQUE. “If we had our way, he would (have) be buried in one of the Muslim Makbaras (cemeteries) scattered all over Ibadan but that would  be a tall dream. That is where all of us would  wish to be buried. Let us continue  praying that Allah be Merciful  on us and halt this pandemic. Thanks for your  patience  and perseverance,” he added.
