Leaders of Muslim organisations in Nigeria have showered accolades on Muslim News, Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic newspaper as it celebrates its second anniversary of existence.
The medium, created in August 2018, was founded to serve as a mouthpiece for Muslim achievers and Islamic events while covering the gap of bias reportage tilted against the Muslims.
Reviewing its operations two years down the line, top religious leaders and scholars passed a vote of confidence on the medium that has trumpeted Islamic events, achievements and stories overtime.
In her assessment, Alhaja Nimotullah AbdulQadri, Amirah, Al-Muminaat (the Believing women organisation) congratulated Muslim News Nigeria on its second anniversary, saying that the platform has been able to fill the vacuum of media bias to a large extent.
Alhaja Abdul Qadri declared that the medium, which she has been following religiously overtime, has been prompt and consistent in its news reportage.
She urged that issues relating to Muslim women, socio-economic and political matters be given more dedicated attention by the outlet.
According to her, “Muslim News Nigeria has become a blessing to us. It is giving us what the mainstream haven’t given in a long time. The medium is just two years old, but has done tremendously well in promoting Islam and Muslims in Nigeria and beyond.
“However, a lot is still to be done. I want the handlers of the medium to focus more on women related issues, social-economic and political matters as they affect the Nigerian Muslim community. In return, we should all rally round to support and ensure the sustainability of the platform,” she added.
