WE ARE ALL VICTIMS OF THEIR TERROR: Mixed reactions trail Gov. Zulum’s claim on Christian #BokoHaram members

There were mixed reactions on Sunday over Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum’s claim that Christians, among other interest groups, are part of Boko Haram, a dangerous group terrorising North-East of Nigeria.

Muslim News findings revealed that the Governor, who has been commended for his exemplary leadership qualities both within and outside the country had alleged at an event in Lagos that the terrorist group has ‘Christians, white men, Asians as members’.

But some aggrieved Nigerians, mostly Christians, denied the claim, asking the Governor to back up his revelation with evidence. In a swift reaction, other Twitter users backed the governor, saying the evidence is apparent, considering the activities of the terrorist group which kills mostly Muslims as well as Christians.

“What zulum says is true if you observe when troops of Lafiya Dole departed to sambisa forest for the first time in 2014, they even a arrested one white old man coming from France,” Senator Ibrahim @Senator_Ibrahim tweeted.

“In summary, @profzulum is saying Christians now kill Christians to renounce Jesus Christ?”, Efe Iyomi @EfeIyomi asked.

Another user, Rasheed Abubakar said, Boko Haram have also killed Muslims and burned mosques. It’s a terrorist group being sponsored by many foreign interests, including some Muslims and Christians as said by Governor Zulum. So, it’s a Nigeria challenge, not Northeast problem alone. We are all victims of their terror.”

For Onitola Akolawole with the handle @donralph_onit, “This may not be far from the truth. Boko haram are brainwashing people irrespective of their religion or region, all they want is for you to buy into their ideology.”
