Aisha Yesufu speaks on #WHD2021, says wearing Hijab is a choice, deserves your tolerance

Today is World Hijab Day and Nigerian Muslim faithful women joined tens of millions of Muslim women across the world to commemorate the day with thought provoking and educative messages.

A Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu also expressed delight in wearing hijab adding that it is her right and choice.

Posting a picture of herself in a lovely hijab, she wrote: “I wear the hijab and it is my right to. My choice and it is deserving of your tolerance. You can choose not to respect that choice but you have to tolerate it because it is my choice. I have a right to it just as you have a right to yours #EndHijabophobia @WorldHijabDay.”

World Hijab Day is an annual event founded by Nazma Khan in 2013. It is marked on February 1, each year in 140 countries worldwide.

It’s stated purpose is to encourage women of all religions and backgrounds to wear and experience the hijab.
