MSCi graduates 50 marriage counselors, surges number to 170

After six weeks of intensive training, one of Nigeria’s leading marriage and training institutes, M-Solution Consulting International (MSCi), has graduated another class of 50 marriage counselors on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

The training which was held virtually for participants from within and outside Nigeria, covered areas such as core and model of marriage counseling, conflict resolution, marriage psychology, among others.

With this class of graduands, the MSCi has now trained and certified more than 170 marriage counselors since its first in 2019, Muslim News findings have revealed.

Welcoming the participants and the guests who graced the occasion from within and outside Nigeria, Lead Consultant of the institute, Mr. Sulaiman Ogunmuyiwa said that training of marriage counselors becomes essential, owing to the daily increase in crumbling homes and divorce in the present society.

According to him, “For this class of graduands, they are very special. They are first to have their classes and graduation virtually. The virtual nature is not strange owing to the new normal we have found ourselves.

“The 50 graduands were trained intensively on basic counseling, covering areas such as core and model of marriage counseling, conflict resolution and marriage psychology. In our society, homes are crumbling and divorce rate is alarming and there is the need to curb it. Thus, the need to train individuals that would take the bull by the horns.

“Later this year, we will be launching the Advance Course on marriage counseling. This, we are hopeful, should kick start as soon as possible.”

Faces at the event include the Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Dr Oluremi Olaleye; National President, The Companion, Alhaji Thabit Sonaike; President of The Companion, Lagos District, Alhaji Abdulganiy Abdulmajeed; Imam, Light House Estate, Sheikh Nojeem Jimoh; Professor Ahmed Adedeji, Alhaja Rahmatullah Ogunmuyiwa and many others.

Issues in marriages should be a concern for all – Alh. Sonaike

In his goodwill message, National President of The Companion and Guest of Honour, Alhaji Thabit Sonaike appreciated the efforts of the institute in curbing the menace of divorce in the society. He noted that issues in marriage is a concern for all generations to come and their lives.

Alhaji Sonaike, whose wife was one of the graduands, upheld, “Most parents are not concerned about what happens in marriages which is something of concern to everyone. It is not only about us but also the generations to come, what they want for themselves and how we want them to live.

“This is a commendable exercise. All participants should seek further knowledge. Also, the organisers should ensure more people benefit from it and get many to be aware”, he sued.

We got counselled while training to become counselors – Participant
