As-Salaam ‘alaykum to all our esteemed readers and fans of Muslim News Islamtainment. As you know, Kuruluş Osman (Season 3), Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu (Season 2) and Barbaroslar will be starting very soon.
We know many of us love these shows, but let’s not forget the real message behind all the cameras and actions. Ertugrul Gazi, Osman Gazi and Sultan AbdulHamid followed the teachings of one man, who was the best of creation.
We all get excited watching the actors play their respective roles, but imagine actually seeing the man who Ertugrul, Osman and Sultan AbdulHamid followed, he was the real Sultan of this world.
A man who did not care about fame or wealth, a man who put others before himself, a man who sacrificed everything for his people, a man who could’ve had all the riches in the world, but chose not to, a man with the most followers worldwide without social media accounts…
This beautiful man is the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes, this is the man who they followed. There are no words beautiful enough to describe prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). If great leaders like Ertugrul, Osman and AbdulHamid followed the prophet’s ﷺ teaching, then surely we should too.
We learn and enjoy watching the actors on screen, but I would like to request from my brothers and sisters not to get carried away with their love for the actors of these shows. Some of these actors are quite secular and it’s their choice how they live their lives, however, I just wish we wouldn’t go so crazy over the secular lifestyle they live outside of the show.
I can understand that the acting is great and we feel an attachment to many of the actors, however, this attachment should also be for the sake of Allah and we should also make dua that many of these actors come closer to Islam, if they have not already (Allah knows best).
Our love for them is not because they played a role in a simple TV show, but because they played specific roles of magnificent characters from our Islamic history. It was the character of those Islamic heroes who made us fall in love with the actors, not the other way around.
Can you imagine seeing the Prophet ﷺ and his beautiful face which was brighter than the moon?
The message we want to send out is quite clear, learn and follow the man who the Beys, Gazi’s and Sultans followed, go direct to the source and you will realise why Ertugrul, Osman and Sultan AbdulHamid were so successful.
Follow the footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ if you want to find the light in this world and the next.
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If you ˹sincerely˺ love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Qur’an 3: 31
