Abdullahi Umar Dokaji and Hajara Ibrahim have been announced as the overall winners of 60 hifz category with Tafsir in the male and female wings of the 25th annual Qur’anic recitation competition.
This announcement was made on Saturday in Dukku local government area of Gombe state where this year’s competition was hosted, during the closing ceremony.
The event ended with the decoration of the two champions (Gwarzon Shekara and Gwarzuwan Shekara) in traditional attires.
Other winners of various categories were also revealed at the occasion after a week-long competition.
Dignitaries at the occasion included the National Secretary of JIBWIS Nigeria, (Dr) Muhammad Kabir Gombe, who was also honored as the first ever chairman of the panel of judges in the state; member representing Dukku/Nafada federal constituency, Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku and Amb. Yarima Abdullahi, Sarkin Bai among others.
