Muslim women to discuss beyond 2023 elections, good governance at annual seminar

A group of Muslim women in business and profession in Lagos State under the aegis of The Criterion, is inviting the general public to their 2023/1444AH annual seminar, scheduled for Sunday, January 29 at Shamsideen Adisa Thomas Mosque, Old Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos.

Tagged: “Set me over the store houses of the land”, inspired by Qur’an 12 verse 55, the seminar will be chaired by Alhaji Thabit Wale Shonaiki, the Deputy Director, MUSWEN South-West II.

President of the Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (IIFP), Professor Tajudeen Yusuf is expected to discuss the topic, “Endemic Corruption; An impediment for good governance in Nigeria, while Alhaja Azeezat Funsho Raji will dissect Political Participation Beyond 2023; Imperative for the Muslim.

The State Amirah and Coordinator, Hajia Mariam Morenikeji, while speaking with Muslim News, explained that the seminar is one of the group’s efforts in educating and sensitising the general public on their roles and responsibilities in ensuring good and accountable governance.

She urged the general public (male and female) to make it a date with them.
