2023 Elections: Al-Mu’minaat urges winners and losers to build on trust, take heart

Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women) Organisation has charged all eventual winners in Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections to consider their victories as trust, saying that they will be held accountable by Allah on the Day of Judgment.

The women organisation, in a message forwarded to Muslim News on Friday by its National Amirah, Hajia Ni’matullah Abdul-Quadir, also urged the probable losers to take heart and accept the outcome of the polls as the Will of Almighty Allah.

Hajia AbdulQadir said, “All the candidates in the presidential and NASS elections as well as others yet to come should know that Allah alone puts whoever He wills in office. Everyone has tried to campaign and win the confidence of the people, but the final decision lies with Allah’.

“Hence, whoever emerges winner should know it is indeed a trust and (they) will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment.

“The tasks are enormous and whoever relies on Allah will be assisted in discharging their responsibilities. The losers should take heart and accept it as the Will of Allah, or go to court if they feel cheated.”

She joined other Muslim organisations who have been featured in the Muslim News 2023 general elections countdown to call on Nigerians to come out in their numbers on Saturday to vote for credible and reliable candidates with the fear of Allah.

According to her, “Today is a day to election and as Nigerians, we all have a role to play. Our vote is our power with which we can change the bad situation of the country for good. In light of this, I’ll urge everyone to come out en masse tomorrow to vote for credible candidates and cast the vote with the fear of Allah.

“We should vote with truthfulness, consciousness and conscience, not with emotions, as we’ll account for all of our actions on the Day of Judgment. We should rate the candidates on their God-consciousness, antecedents and contributions to society. We should vote right, pray that Allah guides our decisions and make the best candidates emerge.

The Muslim female organisation with membership across Nigeria also implored electoral officers and ad-hoc staff to discharge their duties with piety.

“They should ensure the election is as free, fair and credible as possible. They should be transparent and steadfast.

“May Allah (SWT) make the election a peaceful one and make the best among the candidates emerge. May Allah bless our country and make it a peaceful abode for everyone,” she added
