Muslim Public Affairs Center (MPAC) Nigeria has called on Muslims who have fasted for a whole month and become renewed souls to uphold the spirit of humanity.
The group also urged the faithful to see ‘Eid as an opportunity to care for orphans, assist the less privileged and those facing hardships, in accordance with the prophetic models.
In its congratulatory message to Muslims on ‘Eid, MPAC Director, Alhaji Kamor Disu implored Muslims to epitomise noble values and stand themselves out as role models within the Society.
Alhaji Disu explained that Islam preaches great ideals, adding that the ‘Eid has also come to uphold such values.
He said, “The religion of Islam preaches peace, respect for humanity, encourages universal brotherhood and inspires the rest of the world to be wholeheartedly devoted to God Almighty alone. ‘Eid-el-Fitr is a festival that puts forward these same teachings and celebrates them.
“MPAC, therefore, calls upon Nigerian Muslims to use this special occasion as an opportunity for being good role models in our society, in accordance with the prophetic model; care for the orphans and widows, to assist those facing hardship and help the less privileged in the society.”
The faith-based organisation also stated that ‘Eid is supposed to be a special day for everyone, especially the young members of the family, as such, implores to make it remarkable for them.
“The days of ‘Eid should be special days for the entire family and moreso for the younger children. Indeed, we will miss Ramadan as no other month is full of blessings such as Ramadan, for we benefit from it during the days of fasting, during its night of worship and even for months beyond.”
Alhaji Disu then thanked its donors and payers for supporting the cause of MPAC and prayed for the Muslim Ummah in entirety.
