2023 Hajj begins as first flight arrives Saudi Arabia from Pakistan Sunday

The 2023 Hajj will officially begin on Sunday, 21st May 2023 as the first flights carrying intending pilgrims from various countries around of the world will will start arriving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, KSA, Muslim News has learnt. 

Pakistan, as of today (Saturday) has announced to send its first batch of pilgrims on Sunday followed by India on Monday. Meanwhile the Two Holy Mosques and the Holy Sites in Mina, Arafat are gearing up preparations to receive millions of Hujjaj.

Although a number has not been officially announced it is expected that the number of Hujjaj will exceed 2 million and will be the largest since the advent of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Hajj 1444/2023 is also expected to be the most expensive Hajj in history given the increased costs in the service and aviation industry.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Wednesday instructed the authorities of Makkah, Madinah and Hajj Ministry to provide exceptional services to the guest of Rahman in the forthcoming Hajj season.
