Veteran broadcaster and renowned author, Alhaji AbdurRazaq AbdusSalam famously known as Abu Umar Al-Faruq has described Ramadan as an institution where Muslim faithful study piety in all its ramifications.
He made the disclosure on Sunday, March 24, at the special Ramadan lecture organised by the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Itire-Ikate Central Branch, at Fashola Garden, Ijesha Market, Ijeshatedo, Surulere, Lagos.
The theme was “Ramadan’s Legacy: Inspiring Patriotism and Humanity”.
The author of “Living With Others Bi-Salaam’ noted that the Muslim faithful also practice patience, charity, self-discipline and rushing towards khayr (goodness) during the blessed month of Ramadan.
At the event that was attended by the Chief Imam of Ijeshatedo Central Mosque, Sheikh Sulaiman Adebayo (Wereniseoluwa), Chief Imam Oluwakemi Central Mosque, Sheikh Tajudeen Balogun and members of the Society, Abu Umar Al-Faruq added that at the end of a month-long compulsory fast, the faithful will graduate to become pious and righteous individuals. – Details later
