Uphold trust, love in marriage, counsellors tell couples, prospects

This was the thrust of discussions at the recently held singles and married event organised by Nana Bee Hub at the Hajj Mabrur Ventures Conference Hall, Anthony Lagos.

Uphold trust, love in marriage, counsellors tell couples, prospects

* As Nana Bee holds singles and married event in Lagos

Couples and prospective couples have been urged to uphold trust, understanding, love and affection amongst other traits in their interactions with one another to uphold healthy marital relationships.

This was the thrust of discussions at the recently held singles and married event organised by Nana Bee Hub at the Hajj Mabrur Ventures Conference Hall, Anthony Lagos.

Attendees of the event which held on the 13th of April and lasted seven hours were couples, individuals in relationships and singles aiming to make informed decisions about choices of spouses and everlasting marital bliss.

Facilitators that graced the event were: Ustadh (Dr) AbdulFatah Adeyemi, Dr Sanusi Lafiagi, Dr Sulaiman Ogunmuyiwa, Mrs Bushrah Okeowo Bombata and Hajia Mar’yam Thaoban.

In his presentation, a compassionate and caring marriage coach, Dr Adeyemi urged the participants to look beyond materialism in ensuring value-driven relationships.

He emphasized the essence of kindness, affection and excellent human relations in attaining closeness, friendship, and ultimately marital success.

Dr. Lafiagi, who spoke on the topic: “The Essence of Nikaah” called on the male participants to own their roles as the protectors and maintainers of their women, urging them to stay true to their primary objectives in their marriages.

Mrs. Bombata

Dr. Lafiaji, a lecturer at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State also emphasized the need for transparency in marriage, saying that it contributes to love and unity in the home.

Mrs. Bombata in her presentation on “Long Distance Relationships (LDR),” dissected the challenges of LDR and enlightened the audience on ways and necessary tools in ensuring a healthy necessitated long distance relationships.

The marital and teenage counsellor at M-Solution Consulting International Ltd popularly referred to as Mrs Bomb, explained the positive impact of mutual understanding, empathy and effective communication in the success of every long distance relationships.

Hajia Thaoban

The president of Nobleheart Children Foundation, Hajia Mar’yam Thaoban implored the audience to desist from projecting baggages from past experiences upon their current spouses or partners as this can be highly detrimental to the growth of relationships as she perused the topic: “The basis of a Healthy Marriage.”

The organiser of the event, Hajia Aisha Harun appreciated the effort and priceless impact of all facilitators, and encouraged the participants to practicalise all that were learnt at the seminar in building and ensuring happy homes.

She also appreciated all stakeholders in Nigeria and overseas who in various ways contributed to the success of the event.

In an interview with Muslim News, Hajia Harun said the seminar was put in place to help singles; men and ladies in relationships and couples to learn the intricacies and tools in facilitating healthy homes and strengthening relationships.

Highlights of the event included head massage for some of the female attendants, games and a host of other engaging activities.
