Spelling Bee: Vanguards Academy wins again

Spelling Bee: Vanguards Academy wins again

Vanguards Academy has again won the 2024 spectacular Vocabulary Development and Spelling Bee Competition.

The annual competition is organised by Erudite Global Edutainment LTD.

The good news is coming few weeks after the faith-based secondary school in Odosengolu, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State similarly won the 12th edition of the Institute Of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Catch Them Young (CTY) competition, for third time in a row.

Faheez Lawal of SS2 Business Department student of Vanguards Academy defeated 24 other contestants to win the contest.

He scored 300 of the maximum 300 points to qualify to the final event, held at the 1st Point Hotels and Suite, Elega Abeokuta on Friday 6 December, 2024.

Lawal was presented a dummy cheque prize of ₦150,000 at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta during the Prize-Giving event on 7 December, 2024.

Muslim News gathered that Lawal and other three students had represented the school at the Qualifying Round, held at Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu Ode on Tuesday 19 November, 2024, where he came second at the Senior Secondary category with 82% while Roheemah Olagoke, who represented the Vanguards at the Junior category had 80%, which qualified her for the finals.
