Turkiye Ambassador to Nigeria, HE Hidayet Bayraktar held a farewell meeting with the Muslim News Nigeria team led by its Publisher, Rasheed Abubakar, on Sunday, 16th February.
The meeting held at Eko Hotel & Suites, VI, Lagos, marked the conclusion of HE Hidayet Bayraktar’s four years tenure as Turkiye Ambassador to Nigeria.

HE Bayraktar on behalf of the embassy presented a special gift to the delegation while acknowledging the newspaper’s support over the years.
Abubakar, who led the team, also presented copies of the latest edition of the newspaper and the prestigious ‘Global Muslim Personality of the Year’ awards won by President Erdogan, to the outgoing Ambassador.
On his part, Abubakar commended Bayraktar for fostering’s Turkiye’s relationship with Nigeria during his four-year tenure, reiterating Muslim News’ commitment in promoting and supporting Turkiye’s laudable programmes in Nigeria.
“He resumed assignment as Turkiye’s Ambassador to Nigeria in 2021 during COVID. It was around that time we met and formalized our relationship. We continued to support and promote Turkiye’s laudable programmes in Nigeria and its President, Recep Tayyip Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for speaking for oppressed Muslims,” he added.
