The Muslim Community of Lagos State (MCLS) has called for unity and mutual support among Muslims and Nigerians, urging them to stand by one another in both joyful and challenging times.

MCLS, the umbrella body representing all Muslims in Lagos, made this call in a statement issued on Sunday by its Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Jubril Folami, on behalf of its President, Alhaji Hon. Muhammad Oyinlomo Danmole.

Extending warm greetings to Muslims across Lagos and beyond in celebration of Eid el-Fitr, Danmole highlighted the significance of togetherness.

He stated, “Our strength lies in unity, and by showing respect and understanding, we can overcome challenges and build a more harmonious society.”

The community urged Muslims to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan—patience, self-discipline, and spiritual growth—beyond the holy month. It encouraged acts of kindness, reflection, and prayer as pathways to personal and communal development.

Danmole also called on all Muslims to pray for peace, prosperity, and harmony in Lagos and across Nigeria, citing Quran 2:153: “And seek help through patience and prayer… Indeed, Allah is with the patient.”

He added, “Let us find strength and guidance in prayer, seeking blessings and protection for our state.”

Reaffirming its commitment to fostering unity, understanding, and goodwill in society, the MCLS stated: “Together, let us cultivate a culture of respect, empathy, and cooperation, working towards a shared goal of peace and prosperity.”

Concluding its message, the organization wished Muslims a joyful and blessed Eid el-Fitr, urging them to embrace the spirit of gratitude and peace.

“May this occasion bring us closer as a community and inspire us to live out the values of Islam in our daily lives,” the statement added.
