MPAC seeks unified voice against US, Israel’s oppression, expresses support for Palestine

* Felicitates Muslims on completion of Ramadan, Eid celebration

* Let’s not forget those facing various challenges: Disu

Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has called on people of conscience in Nigeria and across the world to amplify their voices against oppression and intensify their support for Palestinian cause.

The group, in her Eid-el-Fitr message to the Ummah, issued on Sunday by its Executive Chairman, Mal Kamor Disu, urged individuals and organisations to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice, freedom and human rights.

Muslim News gathered that the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza which erupted on October 7, 2023 has been a focal point of global attention due to flagrant violations of international laws by the Zionist army and indiscriminate killing of Palestinians.

According to Disu, “As we celebrate Eid El Fitr, our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Palestine, who have faced intense persecution and hardship for more than 7 decades.

“During this Ramadan, Israel, backed by the United States of America, intensified its devastating assault on Palestinian lives, homes, and dignity, killing on the average 109 Palestinians daily in Gaza. Entire families have been wiped out, communities erased, and the very fabric of Palestinian society systematically dismantled through genocide, starvation and acts of terrorism.

“As of today, the official death toll of Palestinians in just over a year of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, has surpassed 50,000 – a figure that does not account for those still buried beneath the rubbles, the starving, those languishing in Israeli jails, and in the besieged hospitals without medical care. The West Bank has also seen a surge in Israeli violence, with mass arrests, extrajudicial killings, and state-sanctioned terror unleashed on civilians every day.

MPAC, however, noted that despite global calls for justice, United States has continued to supply Israel with more weapons, standing guard to genocide, and emboldening the Israeli architects of war crimes.

“In these defining moments, our duty as Muslims is clear. We must amplify our voices against oppression, intensify our support for the Palestinian cause, and remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice, freedom and human rights,” he noted

While congratulating the entire Muslim Ummah for completing 29-day of fasting in Ramadan and Eid celebration, the Executive Chairman of MPAC urged Nigerians to render support to people facing various challenges.

The group specifically extended gratitude to individuals or groups that supported MPAC initiatives during Ramadan, saying, “Your Zakat, Sadaqah, and prayers empower our work and fuel the collective resolve to continue serving the Muslim community promoting peace, justice, and understanding.

“The generosity and support of our donors, in and outside of Ramadan, mean the world to us, and we are grateful for your trust in our work. May Allah accept your sacrifices, elevate your ranks, and multiply your rewards in this life and the Hereafter.

“As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever helps his brother in his time of need, Allah will help him in his time of need.” – Hadith, reported by Abu Dawud. May Allah reward you all and your family with goodness and blessings. Eid Mubarak from the entire MPAC team,” he added.
