Former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Lagos State, Alhaji Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, has emerged the new President of Ansar-Ud-deen Society worldwide.
He emerged on Sunday evening through a consensus at the 11th Triennial Conference of the Society held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, following the completion of the two-term tenure of three years each of his predecessor, Alhaji AbdulRafiu Sani.
Muslim News gathered that the four-day conference with the theme “Islam and Muslims; Responsibilities and Relevance in a Pluralistic World,” drew over 2,000 attendees, including national icons, Islamic scholars, and community leaders.
The inauguration was conducted by the Society’s revered National Missioner, Sheikh AbdurRahman Olanrewaju Ahmad, who led the spiritual proceedings and offered heartfelt prayers for the success of the new administration.
Similarly, former National Commissioner in charge of Policy, Personnel, Management and Finance of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf, emerged as Deputy President, while former National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Workers (NURTW), Najeem Yasin emerged as the Vice President (North).
Other newly elected executive members are Nurudeen Okunleye – Vice President (Lagos State), Jimoh Popoola -Vice President (Ogun State), retired Justice Moshood Ajeigbe – Vice President (Osun State), Tesleem Adediran – Vice President (Oyo State ), Sulaiman Ogunlayi – Vice President (Ekiti State ), Yusuf Adesina Soliu – Vice President (Ondo State ) and Abdul-Rahman Olabode Salaudeen, National Secretary among others.

In his acceptance speech, the former Attorney-General of Lagos State under former Gov Akinwunmi Ambode promised to lead the 102-year-old society with transparency, unity, and a commitment to upholding Islamic values.
Alhaji Prince Adeniji outlined his focus areas for progress, including education, publicity, growth, community service, leadership development, and transparency.
He pledged to revitalize the society’s unity, empower its youth, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders.
Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, announced plans to further develop Summit University, strengthen Ansar-Ud-Deen schools nationwide, and establish an AnsarCare Initiative to expand the Society’s humanitarian reach.
He emphasized the importance of leveraging media and technology through a Transparency Portal to promote accountability and enhance member engagement.
The newly elected National President emphasised the importance of piety, consultation (Shura), and trust (Amanah) in guiding the society’s activities. He concluded by calling on members to work together with courage, wisdom, and faith in Allah’s support.
He also paid glowing tribute to his predecessor, appreciating his good spirit of leadership, his passion for unity, and his dedication to the Society’s growth. “I stand on his shoulders to look to the future. His legacy will serve as a compass for the journey ahead,” Kazeem affirmed.
The new National President’s vision for Ansar-Ud-Deen Society promises a renewed focus on education, community service, and youth empowerment, with a commitment to transparency and accountability.
Who is Alhaji Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem?
Alhaji Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem (SAN) hails from Isale-Eko in Lagos Island and was born in Lagos, Nigeria on 19th April 1965 to Late Honourable Justice Boonyamin Oladiran Kazeem a former Solicitor General of the Federation and Judge of Supreme Court of Nigeria and Princess Jemilat Adetoun Kazeem a daughter of late Oba Adeniji –Adele II of Lagos.
He attended St Saviours School, Ebute Metta, Lagos for his primary school before proceeding to Federal Government College Warri for his O’Levels and Federal Government Lagos for his A’levels respectively.
Alhaji Adeniji then proceeded to the University of Lagos where he obtained a second class Upper degree in Political Science in 1986 with a special prize in Comparative political systems. He served his one-year statutory Nigerian Youth service at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs as a Research Assistant before returning to the University of Lagos to study Law. He graduated with a second class Upper Law degree in 1990 with a special prize in International Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991.
He also holds an LLM in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
His professional career started in 1991 when he joined the International Consulting Firm of Arthur Andersen (Now KPMG Professional Services) and rose to Senior Associate in the Firms Tax and Business regulatory Services Division before voluntarily resigning in 1996. During his career at Arthur Andersen Mr. Kazeem was exposed to varied Tax, Consulting and Business Advisory training and experience.
In 1996, Alhaji Adeniji set up the Law Firm of Adeniji Kazeem & Co to cater for local and International legal needs. He has since then run the full service Law Firm with offices in Lagos and Abuja. The Firm specializes in litigation and ADR, ICT Law, Intellectual property, Commercial Law and Company Secretarial services to the Public and Private Sector.
He is the author of the book Electronic Contract Formation and the Nigerian Initiatives, and several other publications. He is a Notary Public of the Federation, member of the International Trade Mark Association, member International Bar Association, member chartered institute of arbitrators.
He is also the National Legal Adviser of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Secretary of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Education Trust, member of the Board of Governors of Ansar-Ud-Deen College Isolo before emerging as the National President of the Society at the just concluded 11th Triennial Conference. He is happily married with children.
In a communique issued at the end of the conference on Sunday, the society called on Muslims to identify with pristine Islam at all times, emphasising the need for members to recommit their intentions and strivings towards the continued relevance of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society.
