Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have declared Saturday, July 26, 2025 as the first day of Safar, the second month of Islamic calendar 1447 AH.
Muslim News gathered that the Makkah Royal Clock Tower in Saudi Arabia beamed light into the sky on Friday night to mark the arrival of the new lunar month.
Both countries didn’t sight the moon at sunset on Thursday, July 24 (Muharram 29), which led their highest religious institutions to declare today, Friday, as Muharram 30, and Saturday, July 26 as the commencement of Safar 1447.
