The Chief Imam of the Lighthouse Muslim Community in Lekki, Imam Nojeem Jimoh, has been elected as the new National Amir (President) of The Companion – a leading association of Muslim men in business and the professions.
His emergence was announced during the association’s three-day National Conference, held at De-Peace Hotel in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The conference concluded today, Saturday, August 9, with his formal elevation to the top leadership position.
Imam Jimoh, a member of the Daw’ah Committee of the Lekki Central Mosque (LEMU), will steer the affairs of the faith-based organisation for the next two years.
Muslim News gathered that Imam Jimoh previously served as Amir of The Companion’s Lagos District and, until his latest appointment, was the National Naibul-Amir.
A retired oil and gas executive, Imam Jimoh is the immediate past Chief Operating Officer of Taurus Oil & Gas Ltd, Ikoyi, Lagos, and currently serves as a non-executive director in the same company.
