NAHCON announces 2026 Hajj fare, reduces cost for intending pilgrims

* Signs service deals, sets payment deadline

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has released the official fares for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, with a reduction of approximately N200,000 compared to the previous year’s rates.

The announcement was made by the Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, following consultations with key stakeholders including the Forum of States leadership and final approval by the Federal Government.

According to the new fare structure: Intending pilgrims from the Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba) will pay N8,118,333.67.  Those from other Northern states will pay N8,244,813.67 while intending pilgrims from Southern states will pay N8,561,013.67.

Prof Saleh noted that the fare reduction was part of efforts to ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims, especially amid economic pressures.

In 2025, the average fare exceeded this year’s by about N200,000 per pilgrim, Muslim News gathered.

Meanwhile, a NAHCON delegation currently in Saudi Arabia has successfully signed agreements with key Hajj service providers for the 2026 season.

The Commission formalized arrangements with Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya, the designated Hajj service provider, and Daleel Al-Ma’aleem, the transportation company.

Prof. Saleh urged all intending pilgrims to complete their payment on or before 31st December 2025, to ensure timely processing and logistics planning.
