The Kwara State representative of Muslim News Nigeria, Abdullah Abdulganiy, has earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree from Nigeria’s most-sought-after tertiary institution, the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

Abdullah completed his MSc programme in October 2024 and was part of the 40th convocation ceremonies of the institution that began on Tuesday 17th of October 2025.

He studied Sociology with specialisation in Criminology — the same course he read at the Bachelors level from the same institution.

Abdullah was formerly a Senior Reporter with Muslim News Nigeria. He has over 5 years of experience in print and digital media, strategic and political communication, corporate communication, and public relations. He has also worked with various public and private organisations designing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns.

In a terse message made available to Muslim News Nigeria, the new MSc holder expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for accomplishing the feat.

He said the journey was demanding but ended up worthwhile at the end of the day.

“I want to use this medium to appreciate everyone — family, supervisor, lecturers, friends, bosses, colleagues — for their support throughout the journey,” he said.

“The programme has strengthened my critical thinking capacity, analytical and research skills. More importantly, it has further shaped my perspectives on social issues. I’m excited at this milestone and look forward to more avenues to continue building my capacity both in academics and career.”
