The Publisher of Muslim News Nigeria, Alhaji Rasheed Abubakar, has been honoured with a prestigious Award of Excellence by Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women) Organisation, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Islamic media advocacy and philanthropic services.
The award was presented during the grand ceremony marking the organisation’s 30th anniversary, held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Lagos.
Since founding Muslim News in 2018, Abubakar has grown the platform into the country’s most authoritative Islamic newspaper — renowned for its ethical journalism and comprehensive coverage of religious, social, and political issues from the Islamic perspective.
Beyond journalism, he leads humanitarian efforts through Rawshield PR Media, partnering with organizations like Malta Guinness and Türkiye’s Diyanet Foundation to support fasting Muslims and vulnerable communities. During the COVID-19 lockdown, he coordinated food distribution to those in need.
Alhaji Abubakar dedicated the award to Almighty Allah, the oppressed people of Palestine and other regions where Muslims face persecution, his beloved family, and esteemed readers and the dedicated team behind Muslim News Nigeria.
The recognition by Al-Mu’minaat further cements Alhaji Abubakar’s reputation as a voice for the voiceless and a steadfast promoter of Islamic values in media and community service.
