The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has been thrown into mourning following the tragic murder of its Kebbi State leader, Ustaz Alqasim Usman Ibrahim, who was abducted and later killed by suspected bandit terrorists.
Ustaz Alqasim, who served as the Amir of MSSN Yauri Area Council, was kidnapped on Saturday, November 16, 2025, while working on his farm. Despite fervent prayers and hopes for his safe return, his death was confirmed a day later on Sunday, November 17.
The National Headquarters of the MSSN described his death as a monumental loss, not just to the organisation but to the entire Muslim community in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by its National PRO, Malam Moshood Abiola Olatunbi, the MSSN extolled the late Amir’s selfless leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the cause of Islam and youth development.
“We unequivocally condemn this barbaric and senseless act. Ustaz Alqasim was a committed leader whose life was dedicated to spiritual upliftment and community service. His loss is deeply painful,” the Society stated.
MSSN called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity across the country, especially in areas where Muslims have increasingly become targets of violence and abductions.
“It is unacceptable that Nigerians, particularly Muslim youths, are no longer safe in their farms, schools, or communities. We demand swift and decisive justice for Ustaz Alqasim and others who have suffered similar fates,” the statement added.
The Society reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and protecting its members while advocating for peace, security, and justice across the nation.
MSSN offered heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Yauri Area Council, and the Kebbi Area Unit. “We pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings, accepts him among the martyrs, and grants him Al-Jannatul Firdaus,” it concluded.
