The National Headquarters of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Ustaz Alqasim Usman Ibrahim, the Ameer of MSSN Yauri Area Council, who was abducted by armed criminals on Saturday, November 16, 2025, while working on his farm.
In a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer of MSSN, Mallam Moshood Abiola Olatunbi, on Thursday, November 20, the national leadership confirmed that Ustaz Alqasim was tragically killed by his abductors on Sunday, November 17, after earlier hopes and prayers for his safe return.
The Society described the late Ameer as a committed and exemplary leader whose life was defined by integrity, service, and unwavering dedication to the cause of Islam and Muslim youth development.
“Ustaz Alqasim’s contributions to the growth of MSSN and his efforts toward the moral and spiritual upliftment of Muslim students will remain evergreen in our hearts,” the statement read.
The National Headquarters of MSSN extended heartfelt condolences to his family, the MSSN Yauri Area Council, the Kebbi State Area Unit, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
… Condemns brutal killing
The Muslim students body strongly condemned the abduction and killing of Ustaz Alqasim Usman Ibrahim, describing the act as barbaric and senseless.
The Society said the kidnapping and murder of innocent citizens, particularly individuals committed to community service, religious guidance, and peaceful coexistence, must never be tolerated.
“This painful incident underscores the urgent need for government at all levels to intensify efforts in addressing the worsening security situation ravaging many communities,” the statement read, adding, “It is unacceptable that hardworking Nigerians cannot go to their farms or workplaces without fear of abduction or death.”
The MSSN called on security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing that no part of the country should be left to suffer in silence.
Reaffirming its commitment to justice and protection of Muslim youths, the Society stated: “The death of Ustaz Alqasim strengthens our resolve to demand a safer Nigeria—where young Muslims can live, learn, and serve without fear.”
