Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ahmed Ololade famously known as #Asake has been spotted in a viral video among pilgrims at the Kaaba in Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah.

Muslim News gathered that the superstar is currently in the holy land for Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) during the last ten days of Ramadan.

The short clip circulating on social media shows Asake within the large crowd of worshippers gathered around the #Kaaba, in what appears to be attempting to move closer to the House of Allah, but the heavy crowd of pilgrims performing Umrah made access difficult.

The final days of #Ramadan often see a surge of worshippers in the holy city, as Muslims from all walks of life, regardless of rank or status, strive to maximise the spiritual rewards of this sacred period.

In Islam, Muslims worship Allah, the Lord of the Kaaba, not the structure itself, despite some Islamophobic media and critics sometimes referring to it derogatorily as the #BlackStone.

The Qur’an emphasises this in Surah Quraysh (106:3): “So let them worship the Lord of this House.” The verse underscores that devotion is directed to Allah, the Lord of the Kaaba, not the structure itself.

Afrobeats star Asake’s video has since attracted reactions online, with many fans and followers expressing admiration and offering prayers for the singer as he joined other pilgrims in the sacred precinct.

Some commenters also encouraged other celebrities to emulate the gesture, noting that despite his global fame and influence, Asake appeared humble and submissive before Allah while performing acts of worship.
