No new moon sighted, Sultan declares Tuesday as first Dhul-Qadah 1446AH

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, under the leadership of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Tuesday, April 29, as the first day of Dhul-Qadah 1446AH.

Muslim News gathered that the announcement followed the report of National Moon Sighting Committee (NMSC) confirming no sighting of Dhul-Qadah 1446AH after the sunset of Sunday, April 27.

The Sultan of Sokoto therefore declared today, Monday, April 28, as 30th of Shawwal 1446H, with Tuesday, April 29, automatically be first day of Dhul-Qadah, the eleventh month of Islamic lunar calendar.
