Hamdalillahi Travels Limited has continued its 2026 Hajj airlift operations with the steady movement of pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as batches depart Nigeria in preparation for the annual pilgrimage.
The company confirmed that a total of 15 pilgrims have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia through its organised flight schedule.
The first batch of four pilgrims departed on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, while a second batch of 11 pilgrims was airlifted on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Our correspondent was present at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, during the Thursday, May 14 airlift, where pilgrims were seen in high spirits as they departed Nigeria amid prayers, family farewells, and emotional scenes.
The pilgrims were dressed in coordinated Ankara outfits, a unifying dress code adopted to promote togetherness, solidarity, and cooperation among them throughout the spiritual journey. The idea, according to guidance shared during pre Hajj seminars, is to reinforce unity and mutual support among pilgrims during the exercise.
The Chief Executive Officer of Hamdalillahi Travels Limited, Alhaji Rasheed Adekunle, said the coordinated logistics arrangement reflects the company’s commitment to discipline, structure, and efficient pilgrimage management.
He explained that the airlift operations are being conducted in partnership with aviation service provider Dala Air Services, describing the collaboration as a key factor in ensuring smooth flight coordination, improved passenger handling, and seamless operations across designated routes.
Alhaji Adekunle added that the phased airlift system has been carefully designed to strengthen operational planning, ensure compliance with Saudi entry requirements, and guarantee orderly processing of pilgrims ahead of peak Hajj activities.
He noted that the structured approach continues to enhance efficiency in movement, reduce congestion, and improve the overall travel experience for pilgrims under the company’s care.
The CEO, who also serves as National Secretary of the Hajj and Umrah Tour Operators Association of Nigeria, said the model remains effective in supporting Nigeria’s private sector Hajj logistics framework.
Meanwhile, the company confirmed that an additional 27 pilgrims are scheduled to depart on Friday, May 15, 2026, as part of ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
With more batches expected in the coming days, operators say the airlift operations will continue steadily as preparations intensify for the peak pilgrimage period.
