Global Leaders Inc has recognised MTN Nigeria’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, Modupe Kadri famously known as MAK, alongside other distinguished Nigerian professionals for excellence in finance, energy, risk management and corporate leadership.

Modupe Kadri, MTN Nigeria CFO, leads list of honourees
At the forefront of the recognition is Modupe Kadri, FCCA, FCA, M.CIOD, a seasoned finance executive with over 30 years of cross industry experience spanning telecommunications, finance, strategy and corporate leadership across Africa.
Kadri currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director at MTN Nigeria, where he oversees the finance operations of one of Africa’s largest telecommunications companies with more than 64 million subscribers.
In this role, he drives financial strategy, operational efficiency and sustainable business growth across the organisation.
Prior to this, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director at MTN Ghana, where he supervised financial operations, treasury management, procurement, revenue assurance and strategic planning, helping to strengthen the company’s position as a market leader in the Ghanaian telecom sector.
He also held senior leadership roles at MTN Nigeria, including Acting Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, where he played key roles in budgeting, forecasting, regulatory engagement and financial operations management.
Earlier in his career, Kadri worked with Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria PLC as Business Development Manager and Financial Controller, contributing to corporate strategy development, performance management systems and financial reporting improvements.
He holds an MSc in Management and a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Lagos. He has also completed advanced executive programmes at Wharton Executive Education, Kellogg Executive Education, Columbia Business School, INSEAD and IMD Business School, in addition to holding professional qualifications including FCCA, FCA and M.CIoD.
Global Leaders Inc described Kadri as a transformative leader whose career reflects excellence in financial management, corporate governance and strategic leadership, particularly within Africa’s rapidly expanding telecommunications industry.
Other Nigerian professionals recognised
The organisation also honoured other Nigerian professionals making significant contributions across finance, energy and related sectors.
Among them is Hassan Alimi, BSc, FIMC, FCTI, FCA, Member IIA, a finance professional with over 15 years of experience in corporate finance, strategic financial management, treasury operations, contract financial management and business transformation across the automotive, transportation and logistics sectors in Nigeria.
Also recognised is Saheed Olanrewaju Oyebola, a finance, risk and tax expert with over 12 years of experience in corporate financial reporting, tax audit, risk management, forensic accounting and strategic business leadership across both public and private sectors.
The list further includes Abba Yakubu A., a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and energy executive with over 25 years of experience in upstream oil and gas, gas development, asset management and marine engineering. He has worked across major institutions including NNPC Limited, Shell and the Nigerian Navy.
Another honouree is Wale Abdul, MBA, FCA, FAIMP, ACIB, a financial analyst and chartered accountant with over 24 years of experience in banking operations, financial control, budgeting and strategic leadership within Nigeria’s financial services industry.
