The Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh (Engr) Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla has endorsed the newly unveiled newspaper from the stables of RawshieldPR Media, Muslim News.
The endorsement comes barely a few days to the presentation of Staff of Office to him as the 10th Chief Imam of Lagos by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
Prominent Muslim and Christian dignitaries are expected to grace the event on Sunday, September 16 at the Tafawa Balewa Square Complex, Lagos.
The Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, is billed to be the Chief Host of the event.
The 43 year old graduate of Electrical-Electronics Engineering from the prestigious University of Ilorin received the Publisher of Muslim News, Mallam Rasheed Abubakar at his Lagos Central Mosque office yesterday, Thursday.
After reviewing the 12-page Islamic newspaper, the Lagos Chief Imam praised the Muslim News team for their commitment to the service of Islam through the newspaper.
He encouraged them to improve on the contents of the publication and focus more on issues that affect the Muslim Ummah globally.
“I must really commend you for the quality of work you put forth in this newspaper. It is a good beginning. However, you need to improve on the contents.
“Let them address issues affecting Islam and the Muslims globally. Let them serve as avenues for the Muslim youth to improve their knowledge of the Deen”, he said.
He also emphasised on a good marketing strategy that will meet the demands of prospective customers and sustain the newspaper.
Sheikh Abou-Nolla attributed his selection as the 10th Chief Imam of Lagos to Allah, saying that he is prepared to welcome guests from all over the world to the Centre of Excellence on Sunday.
Some of the personalities expected include His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad; His Eminence, the Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwan Akiolu; the Chairman, Police Service Commission, Alhaji Musiliu Smith; and the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, among others.
