Two Turkish Non-Governmental Agencies, Adamder Association and Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Foundation delivered Qurbani (sacrificial meats) to thousands of Nigerian families during the 2019 Eid-ul-Adha, the season of love, joy and happiness.
The distribution exercise came almost at a time when the Nigerian Office of the International Muslim Women Union (IMWU) led by Dr Khadijah Olaniyan-Shobowale and Hajiah Sherifah Yusuf-Ajibade distributed Qurbani to 151 homes and IDPs in Abuja, Lagos and Osun States.
A representative of Adamder Association, Fatih Emin Danısan, said in a statement that for the 1440 Eid, 1250 families in Abuja and surrounding States benefitted from the sacrificial cut.
Speaking to Muslim News before the exercise, he said, “This year in Nigeria, 1250 families in Abuja villages, especially in the surrounding States, would be benefiting from the Qurbani.
“We have been operating in Nigeria since 2010, and the sacrificial meat would be distributed to families in need, Qur’an courses, orphans and refugee camps”, he emphasised.
Emrah Akcan, an observer for the Aziz Mahmut Hüdayi Foundation, said they had delivered 210 shares of sacrificial meat to about a thousand needy families.
In the same vein, a Germany-based Hasene Association and the Nigeria-based Bashir Association also reached out to many families with the victims they distributed.
