Fourteen notable personalities from all walks of life were Sunday, August 25 unveiled as the patrons of the Lagos state chapter of The Muslim Congress (TMC), Nigeria’s leading faith-based organisation, with the aim of developing visionary leaders and producing goal-oriented Muslims.
Muslim News sought and got permission to publish the profiles of the inducted Nigerians who have the mandate to contribute to the growth of Islam through the society.
Hon. Dr AbdulHakeem Abdul Lateef
Hon. Dr Abdulhakeem Mobolaji Abdullateef is a senior Legal Practitioner and the immediate past Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Lagos State Government.
The Former Special Adviser to the Governor on Political and Legislative Powers Bureau, Lagos State Government is a man with many feathers to his cap. Dr AbdulHakeem, he was former Honourable Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi Isolo Constituency II and former Chairman of several committees.
Hon. AbdulHakeem is the Chief Imam, Lagos State House of Assembly Central Mosque and Former Chairman and Amirul Hajj, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. He is the Founder and Chairman, the Straight Path Initiative for the Welfare of Prisoners and Patients and President, Human Rights Initiative and Development Projects.

Hon. Dr AbdulHakeem Obtained Bachelors of Laws LL.B (Hons) and Masters of Laws LL.M from the University of Lagos and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Lagos State University. He bagged a Doctorate degree PhD in Law and Legislative Drafting from the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.

He is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association and International Bar Association.
Alhaji Rasak Afolabi
Alhaji Rasak Adisa Afolabi, a graduate of Business Administration from the prestigious University of Lagos is an icon who has made a remarkable impact in the Telecom industry. Alhaji Afolabi joined the now-defunct Nigerian Telecommunications (NITEL) in 1980 where he served diligently in different capacities.
His versatility was an evident part of his career spanning over 2 decades, a Fiber cable expert who also commands renowned expertise in internet and satellite SAT-3 where his exploits saw him traversed different part of the world notably Germany. He was until 2014 the Executive Marketing Manager (Technical) of Dizengoff PLC, a role he assumed back in 2009.
Alhaji Afolabi is happily married and blessed with 5 beautiful children. He is a professional to the core, a telecommunication expert with several professional certifications under his belt. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics and Public Administration. His educational background started at Saint Martin Primary School, Mushin from where he proceeded to National College, Yaba before moving on to University of Lagos, Akoka, for his tertiary education.

Dr Shehu Akintade
Dr Shehu Tunji Akintade is a medical doctor and the Chief Medical Director, Hamaab Medical Centre, Ikorodu. Dr Akintade, an Alumnus of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, is a widely travelled medical practitioner with an unquenchable thirst for humanitarian projects.
His exploits in medical practice have seen him win many laurels among which are Merit awards with the Health Care Providers Association of Nigeria (HCPAN), Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN) and Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) to mention but a few. He has also had a stint with several development partners in the health sector.
He is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN) and the Health Care Providers Association of Nigeria (HCPAN) among several other organizations.
Dr Akintade loves meeting and counselling people as a pastime and has mentored many to greatness. The father of 3 attended Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary and High school before his sojourn to the University of Ilorin t where he bagged a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Degree.
Alhaji Ibrahim Salau
Alh. Ibrahim Salau is the Managing Director of one of the leading Environmental management companies in Nigeria, Environmental Accord Limited. He is a member of many professional organizations in Nigeria and abroad. He is an expert in consultancy services for environmental information and risk management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Masters (MSc) Degree from the University of Lagos. The proud father of 4 attended Bariga Primary School and Muslim College, Oworonsoki.

Alhaji Mustapha was appointed Assistant Vice President, Finance at the Worldwide Media Service, New Jersey. He had close working relations with some of the world’s leading blue-chip companies among which are General Electric and Merril Lynch.
Between June 1998 and October 1999, Alhaji Mustapha worked as a Senior Manager with KPMG Consulting, New Jersey. He was the Financial application Manager at Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Newark, New Jersey and was also involved in the Financial Application Rollout at Fedex, Memphis.

Engineer Olalere Rafiu Kayode
Engr. Olalere Rafiu Kayode is an accomplished academic of nearly 3 decades of pure dedication. Engr. Kayode graduated from the University of Ilorin bagging a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Engr) Degree in 1990. He completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1997 at the University of Maiduguri.
He then proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering, 2001 and later obtained Masters of Science (M.Sc) in Thermofluid at the University of Lagos in 2008.
Engr. Kayode, who is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering in Birmingham, UK, is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) and Nigeria Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He is also a COREN certified Engineering expert.
He taught at the Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, Borno State between 1991 and 2008 before joining Lagos Polytechnic where he lectures to date. He is proficient in Mechanical services and automotive emission control and also trades in Agricultural products.
Engr. Kayode was, until 2010, the Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering at Lagos State Polytechnic. Between 2005 and 2008, he served as the Director, Center of Excellence at the Ramat Polytechnic. He was the Secretary of the Association of Staff Union of Polytechnics between 1997 and 1999 at the Ramat Polytechnic.

Alhaji Kashif Bode Oyedele, is a former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lagos State. A scion of the popular Orimedu family of Ibeju Lekki LGA, Alhaji Oyedele is a respected industrialist who carved a niche for himself in his cognate experience which dates back to the early 1980s.
An accomplished chartered accountant, Alhaji Oyedele became a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) in 1983 and presently sits on the board of many companies among which is Med View Airlines.
The graduate of Accounting from Lagos State College of Science and Technology (now LASPOTECH) is married to two wives and blessed with children. Alhaji Oyedele is currently the Chairman of Dolphin Estate Muslim Community, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Alhaji Basheer Bello
Alhaji Adegboyega Basheer Bello is the former Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Oando Marketing, a role he assumed after holding several positions in the organisation. He commenced his professional career with KPMG, an audit, tax and financial advisory firm as an intern in 1998.
Alhaji Bello then joined OCEANIC BANK (now ECO BANK) in year 2000 as an Analyst in the financial control and planning department of the bank and later rose to the position of Head, Management Information System.
His business interests ranges from farming to property development and commodity trading.
He holds a B.Sc Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos and a masters in Business Administration (MBA), United Kingdom (UK).
He is also an alumnus of Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and a fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA). He is currently the chairman/CEO of Skywide Group of Companies.
