This was contained in a press release by the publisher of the newspaper, Mr Rasheed Abubakar.
According to Mr Abubakar, “reaching the proverbial Promised Land is the collective responsibility and duty of all irrespective of tribal, ethnic or religious cum ideological affiliations.
“October 1, 1960 birthed an incomparable milestone in the corporate existence of the country called Nigeria. The Independence Day of our dear country is that which has conferred on us, the right to self rule after a period of colonisation.
“Though, the journey has not been a smooth one, success is not expected to be achieved overnight but with optimism, we are getting closer to the future”.
He further pledged the commitment of the media outlet to tread the path of development and be a strong agent in upholding the Independence of the country.
According to him, “At Muslim News Nigeria, we realise the importance of media objectivity, accuracy, balance and fairness to the Independence of our distinguished country and we would not compromise this for selfish personal interest.”
