Muslim singers, Wasiu and Hafsah Sodeeq’s daughter, Heekmah, called to bar

Says, I would be no where without them

Two of the most talented, veteran Muslim singers in Nigeria, the duo of Alhaji Wasiu Kayode and his wife, Hafsah Sodeeq are perhaps the happiest parents on earth today as they celebrate the success of their daughter, Heekmah, who was called to the Ngierian Bar.

Barrister Heekmah was among the 4,458 candidates called to the bar at Bwari, Abuja, after her successes at the August 2019 Bar final examinations.

The young lady, who looks very much like her mother, joined tens of Muslim ladies in the wig to adorn the simple black hijab, tucked inside her black flowing gown.

The joy of the parents knew no bounds as the mother, a renowned Muslim singer, family and friends flew in to Abuja for the ceremony.

Heekmah, who bagged LLB from Lagos State University (LASU), described her parents as wonderful creatures of Allah, saying that she would have been no where without them.

Speaking exclusively with Muslim News, she said, “I have wonderful parents. They have been my greatest support. I would be nowhere without them, May Almighty Allah preserve them upon good. May they reap the fruits of their labour. Ameen.”

Alhaja Hafsah, who has churned out beautiful Muslim inspired songs such as ‘Ola Fatiha, Emi nire Kan’ was filled with joy as she thanked Allah for the achievement of her daughter.

Speaking with Muslim News, she said, “The Call to Bar ceremony we celebrated today is indeed a great one. I am very excited. The money we spent and the efforts we exerted on these children did not go in vain. I am very grateful to God.

According to her, “It is a thing of joy for one’s child to be successfully called to bar and for one to turn the mother of a lawyer. It really excites. I pray such joy would not leave us at any time.

“May we continue to get joy, happiness, sound health and much more. May we not get missing when we are supposed to bask in the euphoria of our triumph. Once again, I am very happy for the success of the Call to Bar ceremony today. Thank you,” she added.
