India promises to drop all charges against Zakir Naik if he supports Modi’s campaign against Kashmir, says Sheikh Yasir Qadhi

Prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yasir Qadhi has said that the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government have promised to drop all charges against one of the world’s most prominent comparative religion scholar, Dr. Zakir Naik on the condition that he supports the Narendra Modi-led government campaign against the Kashmir people.

Sheikh Qadhi made this disclosure on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, January 9, noting that Dr. Zakir Naik is in a good state of health despite Indian BJP government’s plan to haunt him down.

According to Sheikh Qadhi, who posted pictures of himself and the respected Indian born scholar, said “I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Dr. Zakir Naik. He is doing great and is in good health and spirit despite being hounded by the fascist BJP regime in India.

“I was very surprised to hear that after all of their vicious campaign of calumny, the BJP government sent Dr. Zakir an envoy saying that if he supported Modi’s campaign against Kashmir, the government would drop all charges and reinstate his assets and allow him to return to India.

“This shows that there is no real case against him and it’s all politically motivated. Alhamdullilah (and obviously) he refused the blatant attempt to bribe him – no true scholar will ever sell his dīn for the dunya, May Allah grant all of us sincerity and firmness!!

The scholar further revealed, “We discussed many issues and In shaa Allah, there are plans for something in the future (can’t say anything more now but make Du’a we’re able to do something of benefit for the Muslim Ummah!). I ask Allah to protect Dr Zakir and bless him and his family, all of whom are in exile now.

Dr. Zakir is being hounded by the fascist BJP government in India for several charges levelled against him such as money laundering, terrorism, violence and others.

India’s counterterrorism agency, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), filed a First Information Report, an official police complaint, against Naik and the Mumbai-based non-profit Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) that he founded in 1991, accusing him of indulging in unlawful activities and promoting religious hatred.

The Hindu nationalist government of Prime Minister, Modi responded by imposing a five-year ban on the IRF under the country’s anti-terror laws.

In May 2019, the comparative religion scholar and founder of Peace TV, an evangelism media outlet was tagged a ‘hate preacher’ and charged with money laundering.

Earlier, in 2017, he had being accused of supporting violence and terrorism in the world which he openly and firmly denies.
