An Hijabi Muslim lady and one of the Sales Representatives of Muslim News Nigeria, Labeebah Damilola Dhikrullah has made her family and the entire Muslim community proud as she graduated from the University of Lagos with first class honours.
Miss Labeebah, who studied Marine Sciences (Biology) at the prestigious University was also among the top 3 students of the 2019/2020 class of 96 with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.65.
The result was recently ratified by the University Senate and the institution has announced March 9 to 12, 2020 as the dates of the Convocation ceremonies.
It would be recalled that Miss Labeebah, one of the daughters of the renowned Muslim scholar, Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafii, dressed as a Muslim News vendor in August 2019 to celebrate Costume Day’, a special student event representing people of all walks of life in the society.
While others appeared as traditional elders of tribes, sportspersons, secondary school students, including Spanish movie, Money Heist costumes, Miss Labeebah chose to be a vendor of Muslim News because of her unflinching love for the newspaper.
The Muslimah was among the first set of volunteers to work for Muslim News as a sales representative when the publication, Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic newspaper commenced operation in September 2018.
Despite her boisterous schedule towards her final year in the university as a student, she led her team to many Muslim functions including the World Hijab Day solidarity walk held yesterday in Lagos where thousands of copies of the latest print edition of Muslim News were sold.
Muslim News Publisher, Mallam Rasheed Abubakar rejoiced with the Dhikrullah family for the outstanding achievement of their daughter, Labeebah, saying that, “To whom much is given much is expected. She is very obedient, loyal, hardworking and committed to the Muslim News product despite the token she gets from us.
“The best way we can honour and celebrate one of our own is to dedicate a special edition to her and other Hijabi Muslimaat in particular who made the ummah proud at the just concluded academic session. This edition will also cover their convocation ceremony slated for March.
“I am thus using this medium to reach out to all the Muslim brothers and especially ladies who finished with first class honours during the 2019/2020 academic session to email us @firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
“Although the special edition package also caters for the Male graduands, our sisters/mothers in Hijabs are our major priority at Muslim News due to the incessant assault against them because they choose to wear the Hijab despite the efforts of reactionary forces. We are using our medium to tell the world that their Hijab isn’t a barrier to success,” Abubakar, who is also the CEO of Rawshield PR Media, added.
