Gov. Zulum debunks circulating pictures of Isolation Center, says it’s Kidney Dialysis Center

Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has debunked alleged pictures of Borno Isolation Center widely circulated on social media, saying that it is actually a Kidney Dialysis Center.

Zulum, who has always been in the news for his giant and unprecedented strides in governance, was applauded by netizens on different social media platforms for pictures making the rounds as Borno State Isolation Center.

In fact, a veteran journalist and top PR expert, Mr Dele Momodu also shared the picture on his Twitter page, though was not sure as he asked people to confirm and prayed it was true.

“I pray this is true. Someone should confirm please. I am speechless. Borno Isolation Center is ready in a blink of an eye. The centre is also equipped with a 4D scan machine. No noise, just doing what is right in governance, Gov. Zulum. Too much talk talk at the Federal level”, he wrote.

Another social media user, Muhammad Alfa Raji,  posted on Facebook, “This is what you get when leaders who understand the trust of leadership are appointed or elected to lead. Borno State Isolation Centre for COVID-19.”

Debunking the pictures, Governor Zulum also took to his Twitter page to correct the impression attached to the pictures, saying that the pictures actually represent that of the Borno State Kidney Dialysis Center.

He also noted that the top priority of his administration is on preventive measures while assuring the people of Borno that a modest Isolation Center is already on ground.

“No to falsehood! Hi! I have come across pictures of our Kidney Dialysis Centre in Maiduguri, stunningly packaged as our #COVID19 Isolation Centre in Borno. To set the record, those pictures do not represent our modest Isolation Centre. Our priority is on tough prevention”, the governor wrote.

Muslim News also gathered that preparations are in top gear against the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in Borno.

We learnt that to this day, no confirmed case has been reported in Borno. However, the governor has inaugurated a 25-man Task Force to coordinate and fast-track state-wide activities geared towards preventing an outbreak and respond if it occurs.

The team chaired by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Usman Kadafur will partner with private organizations, faith-based organizations, civil societies, military and para-military organizations to contain and manage the outbreak if it occurs.

The Deputy Governor and team head assured that the Borno State government will do all within its limits to protect its people, including the vulnerable population, from the deadly disease.
