Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation today (Monday, May 18), his third broadcast since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aliyu Sani, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 disclosed this on Sunday.
He spoke as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
In the broadcast, Buhari is expected to give an update on the Coronavirus pandemic.
The confirmed cases as at Sunday, May 17, were put at 5,959 by the regulatory body overseeing the tracking and control of the disease in Nigeria, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
In an update on its official Twitter page, the NCDC stated that there are now 5959 confirmed cases, 1594 discharged cases and 182 deaths.
Buhari is expected to announce to Nigerians whether the country would go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the lockdown.
