Kwara State Governor’s father, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho AbdulRazaq SAN, has returned to his Creator in the wee hours of Saturday, July, 25.

In a statement from the family, signed by Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq, the elderly statesman died peacefully at the age of 93.

Muslim News learnt that the late AbdulRazaq was the first lawyer from Northern Nigeria. He later served as Attorney-General of the Federation.

The deceased was, until his death, the Mutawali of Ilorin, Tafida of Zazzau and Chairman, Nigerian Body of Benchers.

He is survived by his 90-year-old wife, Alhaja Raliat AbdulRazaq, illustrious children (including incumbent Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq), and grandchildren.

According to the statement made available to Muslim News, arrangements for his interment would be made public shortly.
