One of Nigeria’s leading private Islamic institutions, Al-Hikmah University has condoled with the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the passage of his father, the late Mutawwali of Ilorin and Tafida of Zazzau, AGF Abdulganiyu Folorunsho AbdulRazaq, SAN.
It also commiserated with the AbdulRazaq family, the Emir of Ilorin, the entire Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large.
In a statement signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Noah Yusuf, Al-Hikmah University noted that the life and times of the late elder statesman were worthy of emulation, adding that his contributions cannot be forgotten in Nigeria.
“The Founder, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Alh. Chief (Dr) Abdulraheem Oladimeji, OFR, the Jagunmolu of Igbominaland & Arogundade of Lagos; BOT Chairman, Prof. Idris Mohammed, MD, FAS, FWACP, FRCP, OON, the Chancellor, Alh. (Dr) Sayyu Dantata; the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr MD Abubakar, CFR, mni, FCE, the Senate; Management; Staff and students of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin commiserate with the Executive Governor, His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Emir of Ilorin and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate and indeed Kwara State, on the demise of our beloved Father and great Patriach, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho AbdulRasaq SAN (OFR).
“His life and times are worthy of emulation, as a statesman, a leader, a pioneer legal luminary from the Northern region and also the Chairman of Nigerian Body of Benchers, whose achievements and contributions cannot be forgotten in the country.
“As we condole with his dear wife, Alhaja Raliat AbdulRazaq and siblings on the passing of their Patriarch, the Mutawali of Ilorin and the Tafida of Zazzau (Zaria). We pray Almighty Allah grants him Aljannah Firdaus,” the statement read.
