The Coordinator of Al-Mu’minaat Social Advocacy Project (SAP), Mrs. Sherifah Yusuf-Ajibade, has called for the suspension of the #EndSARS protests.
In a statement on Monday, she said the protest has gone from great to gruesome.
“It is no doubt that the police have not been friendly in any way to the people they are meant to protect. They have actually become the problem they were set up to quell. Our experience with SARS notwithstanding, the last two weeks have been an exemplary manner of forcing our sordid experience down the throat of our government. Thank God, the government has been responsive in record time by acceding to the demands of the people.
“However, Nigerians can no longer move freely and the #EndSARS protests have continued to threaten our collective social and economic activities. The protest is bringing hardship to us as a people and we cannot but call for it to come to an end. Beheading is not the remedy to a headache,” she said.
According to Mrs Yusuf-Ajibade, Nigerians have observed that some sinister agenda has crept into the whole process and a good cause now has evil intentions.
She said: “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBTQ) is now a major part of the voice being championed and surreptitiously paying their way into the agenda.
“Let it be known that we are a people of values and upright culture. We value family, and so our society is not up for grabs. We reject LGBTQ+ agenda in its totality, for no good can come from a way of life inimical to human existence. It is unnatural, unconstitutional and so shall it remain. Keep your funding for we are not in need of it and its donors.”

#ENDSARS: NO TO BRUTALITY, NO TO VIOLENCE, NO TO LGTBQ+

To say SARS has become worse than the ‘ordinary police’ is an understatement and every right-thinking Nigerian knows we cannot continue that way.
Our experience with SARS notwithstanding, the last two weeks has been an exemplary manner of forcing our sordid experience down the throat of our government. Alhamdulillah, the government has been responsive in record time by acceding to the demands of the people.

Al-Mu’minaat Social Advocacy Project (SAP), a faith-based community-focused entity, condemns police brutality and what the #EndSARS protest has become. It is bringing hardship to us as people and we cannot but call for it to come to an end.
Beheading is not the remedy to a headache; as such we must not raze our house because it has become rat-invaded. An ill wind blows no one any good.

Police brutality is borne out of the culture of neglect by the government. The Police rank and file have taken up their frustrations on innocent people.
The system where funds which could have been used for building our wellness and security as people have been channelled into the wallets of a few called the legislators and other politicians. Politics has become the shortest and surest means to becoming wealthy overnight in Nigeria.
Monies which could have been applied to developing various segments of the country including the police and other security agencies continued to be used to service the bicameral National assembly.
This is unacceptable, anti-development, and wicked. We must not go on like this and so it must end now too. SARS has ended; let NASS too end its ostentatious life. ‘SARShasEnded’, let ‘NASSEnd’ too. It is then that we can have resources to improve the lives of Nigerians including the Police.
SAP condemns police brutality and the violence associated with the protests. We call for an end to the hardship the protests have become for us as a people and as a nation.
We condemn the alleged involvement and hijack of the protests by imperialistic powers and evil supporters of LGBTQ+ movement. We have no other home but here.
SAP insists that the spending of the National Assembly is destructive and so it must stop and a more accommodative remuneration structure put in place to salvage our economy from the imminent collapse.
