Nine States, one theme, two topics, array of distinguished lecturers: All you need to know about TMC Independence Day Lecture

Members of The Muslim Congress (TMC), one of Nigeria’s frontline Islamic Organisations will on Sunday, October 3, 2021 gather in their thousands across 9 different venues in Nigeria for The Annual State Lecture (TASL), where plethora of challenges bedeviling the country will be dissected with workable solutions.

The nine locations, Muslim News findings revealed are in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara, Niger, Edo and Ondo as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The event which usually commemorates the Nation’s Independence Day Anniversary will hold simultaneously across the 9 states of the Federation, on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

The State Annual Lecture will parade an array of scholars and distinguished Muslim personalities in the academia, business, politics as well as career public service who will do justice to the theme, ‘Insecurity and National Unity: The Nation on Trial’.

Two guest speakers will each speak on the carefully selected thematic lectures ; ‘Security and Economic Stability: Imperative of Good Governance’ and ‘Dangers of Disunity and Tribalism: Religious Leaders on Call’.

Invited Speakers for the Annual State Lecture

Oyo State

In Oyo State, Sheikh AbdurRahman Ahmad, Chief Imam of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria and Ustadh Abdurrazaq Abdussalam Awayewaserere, Director, Corporate and Public Affairs, Voice of Nigeria, Lagos are the Guest Lecturers expected at the event scheduled to hold at Daylan Event and Conference Center, Ibadan.

Oyo State

Abuja

In the nation’s capital, Abuja, the Guest Speakers will be: Mallam Kabiru Adamu, a Security Expert and Intelligence Specialist and Sheikh Sa’eed Salman, Assistant Registrar, Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH. The event is expected to hold at the Stonehedge Hotel Banquet Hall, Central Business District, Abuja.

Ondo State

Organisers of the event in Ondo have invited Sheikh Dhikrullahi Shafii’, Grand Mufti of the Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO) as the Guest Speaker. The lecture, which is expected to be attended by Muslim faithful, will hold at Akure Central Mosque.

Niger State

Both Prof. Abdulwasi Gabadeen, Director of Quality Assurance, University of Abuja and Dr. Hassan Taiwo Odugbesan of the Department of Economics, University of Abuja will be Guest Speakers at the Niger State arm of the event. The venue is at Jim-N, Suleja.

Ogun State

For Ogun State, the programme will hold at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, with Dr. Abdulhakeem Akani, Chief Imam of Olabisi Onabanjo University and Sheikh Muhammad Jamiu Tirmidhi as Guest Speakers.

Ogun

Kwara State

In Kwara, Mallam Abdullateef Ishowo, Author and Seasoned Public Affairs Analyst and Ustadh Sherifdeen Ibrahim, Naibul Amir, Da’wah Affairs Office, TMC will do justice to the topics of the Annual State Lecture, slated for Shaaba Lafiagi Hall, School of Nursing, General Hospital, Ilorin.

Kwara

Edo State

For Edo State, Ustadh Harun Umar, Imaam of Four Brigade Mosque, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City and Dr. Zafaran Adeniyi, Director, Vanguards Academy, Ijebu-Ode will dissect the two topics. The event will hold at the Multi Purpose Hall, Benin Central Mosque, Igun.

Lagos State

Lagos, which is expected to have the largest turnout of participants, is scheduled to have two Guest Speakers: Dr. Abdulkabir Olawale Paramole of the Department of Religions, Islamic Studies Unit, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University (LASU) and Prof. AbdulLateef Adeyemo, HOD, Department of Religions, University of Benin. It ‘ll hold at the open field, Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo campus, Isolo, Lagos.

Osun State

In Osun State, Muslim faithful and members of the Society are expected to gather at the OSAMDO Hall, Gbogan/Ibadan road, Osogbo for the Anniversary lecture on Sunday, where the two Guest Speakers, Dr. Mikhail Jimoh Folohunso of the Department of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Osun State University and Ustadh Hafidh Abdul Afeez Ariremako, the Naibul Amir, Cultural Affairs, TMC will speak on the topics.
