Sheikh Buhari decries discord among scholars, says act no longer fashionable

Popular Ilorin, Kwara State-born Islamic scholar, Sheikh Buhari bn Musa has said that trading of abusive words among scholars, especially on social media is no longer fashionable and in tune with present day realities.

He made this statement in an interview with Star FM radio which was circulated on social media.

Alhaji Buhari said he didn’t rise to stardom by abusing other scholars and will therefore not stoop so low to respond to anyone that abuses him on social media.

“I didn’t rise to stardom by abusing others. That’s why I am still in the limelight. It was Allah that lifted me Himself. And whosoever Allah has lifted, no man can put such person down,” he said.

“So, if anyone abuses me tomorrow, I won’t even respond. I don’t even have the time to surf the internet to know who is abusing me. I don’t patronize Facebook.

“Do you think it is wise to respond to people denigrating you and making unfounded claims about you? If I should stoop so low to respond to such, my esteemed fans and loved ones would be deeply disappointed.”

The Sheikh also prayed that Allah reward his esteemed fans abundantly and grant their heart desires.

“Those who choose abusing us as handiwork, may Allah guide them aright. There is no gain in such enterprise. How do you stand to defend all the unfounded claims you have made against people on the Day of Judgement? Abusing people does not guarantee fame. You just do it and everything ends there.”
