Another Muslim News reporter, Sherifdeen Dhikrullah graduates with first class at UI

It was another jubilation galore for the management of Muslim News, Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic Newspaper, as one of its dedicated staff, Mr. Sherifdeen Akanji Dhikrullah graduated with a first class honours from the prestigious University of Ibadan.

Mr. Dhikrullah, who doubles as a content provider, reporter and sales representative for the newspaper in Ibadan, is among the 256 graduands with first class honours that graced the Institution’s 73rd Convocation ceremony today, Monday, November 15, which runs through Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

The elated Mr. Dhikrullah – a polyglot with outstanding proficiencies in four international languages and cultures, studied French Education at the Faculty of Education.

Dhikrullah also graduated with a distinction from the Arabic Institute of Nigeria in 2015, where he memorized the Qur’an and perfected the idiosyncrasies of the Arabic grammar and literature.

He is a voyageur who has been to over 10 countries in Africa.

The good news is coming few months after another Muslim News Sales Representative, Labeebah Damilola Dhikrullah, graduated with first class honours from the Department of Marine Biology, University of Lagos.

Relating his four years experience with Muslim News, Dhikrullah said it has been quite fascinating and tasking studying French at the University of Ibadan without the slightest background in French.

According to him, “During my first year, I was nothing less than a dummy in French classes, who knew nothing about French and all he had in his linguistic repertoire were the bonjour and bonsoir just like every other person. I took up the challenge and decided to enjoy the music. It was tough indeed as I ended my first year with a 2.1.

“My second year was tougher, because I was still struggling with my balance in French though at that stage, I could see a clear cut possibility of graduating with a first class because I now had a strong foundation upon which I could build a structure for distinction,” he stated.

Speaking further, Dhikrullah said, “My third year was at the French language village Badagry, which is otherwise called the Laboratory of French in Nigeria .There, I met with francophone, whose first language is French and the intimidation rose high as they spoke the language as though it was nothing hard.

“I rose above the intimidation, interacted with them with the fullest of confidence until I graduated during my one-year abroad program at the Nigerian French language village with a first class (mention très bien)”, he added.

Dhikrullah, famously known as Seebah by admirers disclosed that he never had any plan to graduate with a first class honours from inception.

“I only wanted to learn French and demystify its rudiments, but when I finished my second year on a strong 2.1, I saw clearly the possibility of graduating with a first class and I aligned myself with that possibility, and by the might of Allah, the most high, it became a reality,” he noted.

The Islamic content creator and Vanguards Academy alumnus said joining Muslim News has been an exhilarating and a laudable experience for him as an undergraduate.

He said, “What inspired me to join Muslim News was its unique style of reporting Islam and the achievements of Muslims; and it’s correction of the anomalies of the pseudo mainstream media system.

“My experience is exhilarating and laudable as I have interviewed different outstanding Islamic personalities in Nigeria from Sheikh Isa Akindele, Alhaji Femi Abass to mention but a few. I have had opportunity to do live videos on the newspaper’s social media account where I addressed Islamic ethics. I am forever grateful to Muslim news Nigeria for this opportunity,” he added.

Muslim News congratulates Mr Dhikrullah on his well-deserved achievement, wishing him a resounding success in his next adventure.
