APC Primaries: Adebule, Abiru, Eshinlokun win all Lagos senatorial districts ticket
Former Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos West Senatorial District Primary Election held at Agege Stadium, Agege.
Adebule defeated former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and one-time Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation Kayode Opeifa.
Opeifa’s quest to withdraw from the race was rebuffed by the electoral committee because voting had commenced before announcing his decision.
Adebule polled 424 votes, Obanikoro had  119 votes while Opeifa got four votes.
Ten votes were voided.
Chairman, APC Lagos State Senatorial Primary Election Committee Chief Emeka Okafor declared Adebule winner of the election.
Lagos Central

Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni, has clinched the APC ticket to contest the Lagos Central Senatorial District seat in the 2023 general elections.

Mr Eshinlokun-Sanni defeated three other contestants for the ticket currently being held by Oluremi Tinubu, a third-term occupier of the seat who is not seeking re-election.

Announcing the result on Saturday, Tolani Sule, Chairman of the five-man APC Electoral Committee and Returning Officer for the election, said that Mr Eshinlokun-Sanni scored 185 votes to defeat his closest rival, Demola Seriki, who polled 97 votes.

According to Mr Sule, the other contestants: Akeem Apatira scored 22 votes while Oyinlomo Danmole polled zero votes.

The returning officer said that 308 ad hoc delegates were accredited out of 310 ad hoc delegates expected.

He said the total number of votes cast was 304 without any invalid votes.

“Wasiu Sanni-Eshinlokun scored 185 votes,” he said.

Lagos East

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru (APC-Lagos) has won the party’s Lagos East Senatorial District ticket for the 2023 general elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Lagos East senatorial zone consists of five Local Government Areas namely, Epe, Ikorodu, Somolu, Kosofe, and Ibeju Lekki.

The primaries held at the CMD ground, Magodo GRA.

Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Fuad Oki, who said that Mr Abiru was unopposed, also said he won with 344 votes cast with no invalid vote.

The Epe Local Government Chairman, Wuraola Animashaun, noted that the electoral process was peaceful, free, and fair.

“The election is a good one since there is no opposition which is due to the love they have for the sitting senator which is immeasurable.

“Even if he is going for four terms, people will not contest against him because he is doing well and representing their interest at the National Assembly.

“If someone is representing us well, why should we oppose him? For the people of Epe, we want the senator to assist us with good roads and to assist our youths and women with empowerment programmes.
