UMA President, Shuaib Salis emerges APC Senatorial candidate in Ogun Central

The University of Lagos Muslim Alumni President and the Chief of staff to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Shuaib Afolabi Salis has won the Ogun Central Senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Shuaib, a devout Muslim, got the ticket for Ogun Central after Ibikunle Amosun, a former governor and senator for the district, declared his intention to run for president.

He polled a total of 301 votes to defeat other aspirants.

The primary election took place on Friday at Centenary Hall, Ake, Abeokuta, amid tight security provided by the police and other agencies.

The primary election was also conducted under the watch of the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission. (INEC).

Other aspirants, including immediate past commissioner for Cooperative, Ganiyu Hamzat Pulled 64 votes, Senator Olugbenga Obadara pulled 2 votes.
