A journalist with a leading news outfit in Nigeria has lost a huge sum of money in Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The journalist who does not want his name in print told Muslim News on Monday, July 18 that the lost sum amounts to at least $2,700, equivalent to 1, 647, 610.
He is a member of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Media Team.
He was among the over 41,000 faithful that performed the 2022 hajj from Nigeria.
Narrating the incident, the journalist said he couldn’t exactly pinpoint how the money got lost, however, he said he suspected that it either slipped from his pocket in a public transit he boarded from Jeddah to Makkah or at Bab Makkah, where he was waiting for some colleagues who went shopping.
The incident, Muslim News gathered, happened on Sunday.
