Islamic finance stakeholders in Nigeria are expected to meet at a 2-day event in Lagos where they will chart a roadmap for the future of Islamic fintech in the country.
The meeting is at the instance of the Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (IIFP) which has put together the 2022 Annual Islamic Finance Stakeholders’ Conference and Dinner/Award Night.
Themed, ‘The Future of Islamic Fintech in Nigeria; Products, Policies and Shari’ah Compliance’. Those expected at the programme include, Islamic finance policy makers, Islamic finance professionals, MD/CEOs of Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs), Islamic scholars, academics, leaders and managers of Islamic organisations.
The 2-day event will hold on Thursday and Friday, 15th and 16th December at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos State.

Top government officials including Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hon. Zainab Shamuna Ahmad, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, Commissioner for Insurance/CEO, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Thomas Olorundare Sunday, are expected to present keynote addresses slated for the first day of the conference.
Over 15 experts have also been lined up for the conference which will feature three panel discussions with the aim of having conversations that will chart a roadmap for the future of Islamic fintech in Nigeria.
The Dinner and Award Night on the other hand is to celebrate individuals and corporates organisations who have contributed in deepening the growth of Islamic Finance in Nigeria, according to the organisers.
The award categories listed include: the Islamic Finance Impact Award (Banking, Capital Market & Takaful) and the Islamic Finance Advocacy Award (Individual & Corporate).
